The European “Socialism” We Never Asked For

There used to be a joke that Europeans were so terrified of the Soviet Union that they decided to build socialism themselves. Today, that joke feels uncomfortably close to reality — though not the kind of socialism many would actually want.

What we see in much of modern Europe is a heavily corrupted, leftist version of socialism characterized by:

  • Soft dictatorship disguised as “European values”
  • Widespread censorship and growing restrictions on free speech
  • Fake democracy, where the system mainly protects the interests and privileges of the ruling political class
  • Systematic pressure on small and medium businesses, while transnational corporations receive favorable treatment and endless support
  • Heavy taxation and overregulation of working people, paired with active encouragement of welfare dependency
  • Encouraging non-White migration and replacing of genuine European population by Blacks and Browns.

Instead of empowering citizens and fostering genuine prosperity, this model concentrates power and wealth at the top while weakening the middle class and traditional social structures.

The irony is hard to miss: out of fear of one form of socialism, Europe has slowly constructed its own version — bureaucratic, authoritarian, and deeply hostile to individual freedom and real economic liberty.
